Timetable & Teacher Substitution
Configure daily periods, build weekly class schedules, manage room assignments, and handle teacher leave substitutions.
1. Period Configuration
Before building class schedules, define your school's daily period bell schedule:
- Navigate to Nexora > Academics > Timetable.
- Click Configure Periods (or Period Settings).
- Set your active Working Days (e.g., Monday through Friday, or Monday through Saturday).
- Add period slots for your standard academic day:

Teaching PeriodorBreak / Non-Teaching. - Start Time & End Time: e.g.,
08:30 AM - 09:15 AM.
- Period Name: e.g.,
- Click Save Period Schedule.
2. Building the Master Timetable Grid
Assign subjects and faculty to individual period slots for each class and section:
- In Nexora > Academics > Timetable, select the target Academic Session, Class, and Section.
- The interactive weekly timetable grid displays days along the rows and period slots across the columns.
- Click on any period cell to assign:
- Subject: Select from the subjects configured for this class.
- Teacher: Select the faculty member responsible for the slot.
- Room / Laboratory: Specify the classroom or lab location (optional).
- Click Save Slot.
Conflict Prevention
Nexora automatically validates schedule assignments. If a teacher or classroom is already scheduled in another section at the same time slot, a warning is raised to prevent double-booking.
3. Teacher Substitution System
When a teacher is absent or on approved leave, use the substitution module to reassign their teaching periods without altering the permanent timetable:
- Navigate to Nexora > Academics > Timetable > Substitute (or Substitutes tab).
- Select the Date of absence.
- Select the Absent Teacher. Nexora loads all periods scheduled for that teacher on the selected date.
- For each period slot, click Assign Substitute:
- Nexora filters the faculty list to display only teachers who are free (not assigned) during that specific time slot.
- Select the available replacement teacher.
- Add optional handover instructions or lesson topics.
- Click Confirm Substitution.
4. Printing & Exporting Schedules
- Class Timetables: Export printable weekly schedules for individual class sections to distribute to students or display in homerooms.
- Teacher Schedules: Print personalized master schedules for faculty showing their weekly teaching load, room allocations, and free periods.
